Immensely popular sweets shop in Tsu's inner city area
Hachimitsu-manju is a famous local bun with bean-jam filling. Its creator worked with Mizutani Bee Farm and opened the bun shop 45 years ago with the wish to make honey a more familiar product. If you pop a freshly baked bun in your mouth its crisp on the outside, hot with smooth, sweet bean-jam on the inside, and has a slight honey flavor. It is well loved locally and affectionately known as 'Hachi-man'. At the reasonable price of 60 yen each, it is a homely Tsu treat to munch.
